SOPRANOS, THE: D-GIRL (TV)

Summary

One in this darkly comic, dramatic series centering around the crime empire and family life of Tony Soprano, a modern-day Mafia boss. In this episode, Christopher meets his cousin Gregory's fiancee -- and Jon Favreau's "D-girl" -- sexy redhead Amy. AJ steals Carmela's station wagon and gets into a fender-bender, and when confronted by Tony about it, admits that he has now become an existentialist, infuriating Tony. Also, Pussy meets with Agent Lipari to discuss Tony's role in a recent mob hit and the possibility that Pussy might have to wear a wire one day. At a session with Melfi, Tony discusses AJ's new attitude and admits that his mother is now "dead to me." Amy invites Christopher to the set of Favreau's new movie, where he helps with a dialogue problem in a scene involving Sandra Bernhard and Janeane Garofalo. After shooting that day, Christopher lunches with Jon and gets offered a job as a dialogue coach for Favreau's upcoming Mafia picture. The next day, while at the Soho Grand to discuss his script with Favreau, Christopher runs into Amy and ends up having sex with her. That night at dinner, Tony is shocked to hear that Christopher has been flirting with the film industry and lays down an ultimatum: leave the Mafia and move to Hollywood or stay with the Family for the long haul. The episode ends at AJ's confirmation party, where Tony discovers AJ and his friends smoking marijuana in the garage, while Pussy secretly records everything on a wire, duct-taped to his freshly-shaven chest.
