Summary
One in this science fiction/fantasy anthology series hosted by Rod Serling. This episode begins in 1847. Christian Horn and his family are traveling in a wagon train to California, but after a year of exhausting travel they have almost no water left, and Chris's son is sick with a life-threatening fever. On a search for water, Chris walks over a desert rim 100 yards away, where he sees power lines and a paved road. Confused, he turns back, but the wagon train is gone. Left with no other choice, Chris wanders down the road to Joe's Diner, where Joe and his wife offer assistance to the lost traveler. Chris is perplexed by his surroundings, particularly after discovering that the year is now 1961. When Chris leaves the diner, police follow him and chase him through the desert. After running back over the desert rim, Chris sees his wagon train again, and he now carries a token from the future to help his sick son. Commercials deleted.
