CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION: BLOOD DROPS (TV)
Summary
One in this series of hour-long police dramas following the macabre exploits of a team of forensic criminalistics experts in downtown Las Vegas. In this episode, all but two members of a suburban family are murdered in their home, and relentless investigator Gil Grissom launches a major quest to uncover what happened. The only survivors are teenager Tina Collins and her young sister Brenda; dead are their mother, father, and two brothers. The C.S.I. unit does not find the two sisters very helpful. After combing through the house and yard -- taking notes on the victims' wounds, taking blood samples and photographs, collecting evidence -- an investigator finds a tire track in the dirt outside that matches the make of a moped owned by a teenager down the street. The teenager is brought in for questioning. Meanwhile, a psychological evaluation of Brenda turns up nothing, but an investigator decides to find out whether the young girl has been sexually abused. Investigator Catherine Willows notices something while pondering a diagram that traces the killer's path through the Collins house: the shape of blood droplets on the floor indicates something important about the order in which the victims were killed. With a lead from the owner of the moped, the results of Brenda's examination, and further questioning of Tina, the missing pieces of the puzzle come together -- in a way no one would have expected.
