OZ: NAPOLEON'S BONEY PARTS (TV)

Summary

One in this series of dramas set in the Oswald Maximum Security Penitentiary, nicknamed "Oz." In this episode, word of Metzger's death spreads, and Beecher's flashbacks provide some insight. McManus hires an old friend, Sean Murphy, to work in Emerald City, and Schillinger forces Busmalis to eat food that has been made unpalatable. Cyril gets sent to the hole after fighting with Robson, and McManus suggests that Murphy institute a boxing program to help divert the inmates' feelings of aggression. Ryan confesses to planning the murder of Gloria Nathan's husband and gets more time added to his prison sentence. Coyle tells Hill that he murdered an entire family for fun and was never caught, but Hill learns of some incriminating evidence in this case and turns it over to Glynn. A class-action suit on behalf of the prisoners is begun by Said in response to the deaths following the recent riot, and Diane is concerned that she will be charged with shooting Ross. Arif and Khan convince Said to avoid becoming attracted to Tricia Ross, a white woman who comes to him for counseling, and Said threatens a hunger strike when McManus refuses to approve special dietary restrictions in accordance with Said's religion. Claire is unconvinced that McManus's romance with Diane has ended when she sees him comforting Diane following her mother's death. Ricardo flips out when his mother and brother refuse to visit him in prison, and he practically kills Clayton on his first day working with prisoners. Bellinger's attorney resigns from her case when the state reduces fees to court-appointed attorneys, leaving her facing an almost certain end on death row. Schillinger's son is incarcerated at Oz, and Adebisi gets a work transfer to the AIDS ward, takes blood from a dying patient, and pricks his enemy Nappa with it. Keller leaves protective custody out of boredom, but Beecher is unresponsive to his advances when he returns. While working in the storage room, Keller is seriously stabbed from behind by an unknown assailant. Alvarez becomes very agitated after being taken off anti-depressants. Mukada smuggles him food since he believes the guards will not feed him, but Alvarez attacks his would-be helper and is beaten mercilessly by the guards. Finally, Alvarez hallucinates and hangs himself in his cell. Garvey fires Gloria after they have a heated argument over the high cost of medical care in the facility. Sister Pete initiates a victim/offender interaction program to help both sides of violent crimes move past the event, but it begins too late to benefit Alvarez.
