MAKING THE BAND: O-TOWN MEMBERS ANNOUNCED (TV)

Summary

One in this reality series in which "boy band" impresario Lou Pearlman tries to form the next great boy band -- O-Town. In this episode, the final seven performers are whittled down to the five-man band. Pearlman gathers the seven to discuss the tension amongst them and how there's "no future in fighting." Jacob talks about Ikaika's "high school" behavior. The next day, the seven rehearse their dance moves, with Ikaika making countless errors. Eventually, however, his hard work leads to him mastering the moves. Later, the seven work on their vocals on a Diane Warren song. Trevor details how he would feel if he didn't make the group. Afterward, some of the group members go food shopping. That night, Ashley talks with his girlfriend Shelli, both of them struggling to carry on a long-distance relationship. Ikaika discusses how he handles his own long-distance relationship. On the day of the cut, Pearlman gets feedback from the team's vocal coach and choreographers. As the announcement nears, the seven would-be band members worry about their futures. Then, with the contracts ready to be inked, the five band members are selected: Ikaika, Jacob, Ashley, Erik-Michael, and Trevor. Afterward, the five victors celebrate and the two others are overcome with emotion. The show is preceded and ends with the Disney Channel's Lee Thompson dancing with O-Town members to promote "Summer Jam Sweepstakes." Includes commercials.
