VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA: NO WAY BACK {SERIES FINALE} (TV)

Summary

The final episode in this science fiction/fantasy series set in the "not-too-distant future" about the adventures of Admiral Harriman Nelson, Captain Lee Crane, and the crew of the top-secret atomic submarine "Seaview." In this episode, the Seaview and all of her crew are lost in an explosion at sea. Back at the Institute, as Nelson awaits word of the Seaview's fate, he receives a visit from time-travel enthusiast Mr. Pem, who miraculously survived his last encounter with Nelson and the Seaview. Pem explains that he has repented and that he wants Nelson's permission to use the power of the Seaview to create a new time-travel device. Nelson refuses, but when he hears of the Seaview's fate, he makes a deal with Pem -- power for a time-travel device in return for saving the Seaview. Pem uses a temporary time-travel device to get them on board the Seaview before she explodes, and Nelson warns Crane about the ship's impending doom. As they search for the cause of the explosion, Pem builds a more potent time-travel device and sends the ship back in time to the American Revolution. There he meets up with Benedict Arnold, and they plot to defeat the Continental Army by launching the Seaview's nuclear missiles against West Point. After Crane and the crew manage to quell Pem's designs for colonial conquest, with Pem's device in hand, Nelson manages to save the Seaview from a watery grave. Commercials deleted.
