MARY AND RHODA (TV)
Summary
This made-for-TV movie, a follow-up to characters' stories established on the "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," focuses on a reunion between old friends Mary Richards and Rhoda Morgenstern. After decades of separation, Mary and Rhoda -- now respectively widowed and divorced -- come back into contact with each other in New York City. They both reveal what's gone on in their lives during the time apart, then spontaneously decide to share an apartment. Mary and Rhoda are now struggling to find new careers, even though each has become officially middle-aged. Meanwhile, Mary's twentysomething daughter, Rose, and Rhoda's similarly aged daughter, Meredith, are desperately trying to build an identity of their own -- sometimes causing them to reject Mary and Rhoda along the way. Ultimately, all four women must learn to conquer some unusual challenges in the worlds of work and romance, as well as on the home front. Includes commercials. This program is closed-captioned.
