SOPRANOS, THE: MEADOWLANDS (TV)
Summary
One in this darkly comic dramatic series centering around the crime empire and family life of Tony Soprano, a modern-day Mafia boss. In this episode, Christopher is released from the hospital after being brutally beaten one night at the Meadowlands, and he soon finds that his buddy Brendan has been shot to death in his bathtub. After believing that Tony is to blame, he realizes that Mikey Palmice, Junior's henchman, is behind the shooting. As a result, Tony attacks Mikey with a staple gun and bawls out Junior, leading to bad blood. Further complicating the "family business" is the fact that the mob's current boss, Jack, is dying of cancer. In addition, Tony contemplates giving up his psychotherapist, Dr. Melfi, since these visits put him in a vulnerable position in the mob's power play. But first he has a private detective follow her, resulting in disastrous results to Melfi's personal life. When Jack finally dies, Tony takes Melfi's advice and gives Junior the illusion of being in control by asking him to take charge of the organization. Meanwhile, a friend of Tony, Jr.'s, Jeremy, has been avoiding him, and proceeds to pick a fight with him. Searching for answers to Jeremy's odd behavior, Tony, Jr., learns about his father's involvement in organized crime from his sister Meadow.
