ARMISTEAD MAUPIN'S MORE TALES OF THE CITY {EPISODE 6} (TV)

Summary

Episode six in this six-episode mini-series about the interconnected lives of people residing in San Francisco in 1977, continuing from the mini-series "Tales of the City." In episode six, DeDe kisses D'orothea and tells her the twins' father is Chinese; the vengeful Betty Ramsey tells Mona that Mrs. Madrigal is responsible for the disappearance of her private detective, Norman; and D'orothea, DeDe, and her gynecologist, Jon, are delighted by the twins' birth, while Frannie is shocked by her grandchildren's heritage. Other highlights include the following: Jon brings Michael home to Barbary Lane; D'orothea pleads with DeDe to leave behind the bigoted socialites of San Francisco; Michael and Jon help Mary Ann decode the poem, leading her and Burke to investigate Grace Cathedral Church; Betty accuses Mrs. Madrigal -- and Mary Ann -- of foul play, but the landlady realizes that Betty has a secret of her own to hide; and at Grace Cathedral, Mary Ann and Burke encounter a legion of distasteful worshippers and learn the reason for Burke's amnesia. Ultimately, DeDe and D'orothea join the People's Temple in Jonestown, Guyana; and Mary Ann, Brian, Jon and Michael settle into their "family life" with Anna Madrigal, who reveals the anagram embedded in her name.
