EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND: THE WEDDING {PARTS 1 AND 2} {SECOND SEASON FINALE} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of situation comedies about the quirky Barone family, starring comedian Ray Romano. In this episode, Ray and Debra are preparing to attend a friend's wedding and Ray asks Debra why she married him. When Debra hesitates to answer, Ray thinks back ten years earlier to the night he proposed to Debra and the ensuing wedding. In flashback, Ray practices asking Debra the big question, but he is interrupted when a few of his friends drop by. After chasing his friends away, Debra arrives and Ray puts his grand plan into action. But Frank interrupts the moment, and Debra spoils it even further by showing Ray's first column in the newspaper to Frank, who proceeds to read it out loud. As Marie and Robert join them in the house, Frank reads the rest of the article, which ends with Ray's proposal of marriage. A few days later, Ray realizes that Debra may have been pressured into saying yes and decides to give her another chance to change her mind. Meanwhile, Debra has already started planning their wedding, and Ray is shocked that she is moving so quickly. Ray is even more shocked when Debra's parents come by and declare that the wedding will be a grand occasion with hundreds of people, which Ray is against. Ray and Debra meet with Father Hubley, who questions their commitment to marriage, and Debra then lays down the law to Ray about their wedding. On the wedding day, Ray is a nervous wreck, and Frank gives him something special to help him get through the wedding, leading Ray to wonder whether his father has the right approach. As the ceremony starts, Ray becomes overanxious and changes a few wedding traditions. And at the party, Debra asks Ray why he was acting so strange during the ceremony. Ultimately, Robert delivers his speech and everyone learns some of the weird qualities of the Barone family. Commercials deleted.
