SEINFELD: THE JUNIOR MINT (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series set in New York City in which comedian Jerry Seinfeld plays himself. Humorous situations in his personal life are interspersed with brief stand-up comedy routines. In this episode, Jerry meets a woman in the supermarket and arranges to go out on a date with her but cannot remember her name. George has accumulated interest on a savings account he had in the sixth grade, and he wants to do something exciting with the money. Kramer needs to find the proper rubber gloves when he decides to stain the floors in his apartment and paste up wood-like wallpaper to replicate the feel of living in a log cabin. Meanwhile, Elaine drags Jerry and Kramer to the hospital to pay a visit to Roy, an artist whom Elaine used to date, who is awaiting an operation. Elaine asks Jerry to play the part of her boyfriend so she will avoid feeling awkward. At the hospital, however, she finds herself attracted to Roy once more. Just as Elaine and Roy arrange to meet following his operation, Jerry plays his part, annoying Elaine. Kramer hits pay dirt by finding rubber gloves at the hospital, and he also asks some questions of the doctor about the upcoming operation. The doctor invites Kramer to view the operation, and he agrees with pleasure to be a spectator. On his date, Jerry attempts to find out the mystery woman's name; the only hint he gets is that it rhymes with a female body part. Kramer drags Jerry to the operation, and one of Kramer's mints accidentally falls into Roy's body. They decide not to mention the incident to Elaine even after she explains that RoyÕs condition has not improved. George chooses to spend his newfound money on some of Roy's art, speculating that its value may increase if Roy dies. The status of the patient eats away at Jerry's conscience until Roy begins to get better, dashing George's dreams of art speculation. Jerry makes one final attempt to learn the name of his mystery date. Commercials deleted.
