SEINFELD: THE SOUP NAZI (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series set in New York City in which comedian Jerry Seinfeld plays himself. Humorous situations in his personal life are interspersed with brief stand-up comedy routines. In this episode, Jerry's pet names and public displays of affection for his girlfriend begin to grate on George's nerves. As Jerry, George, and Elaine venture into a soup store about which Kramer has been raving, Jerry details the owner's strict rules for ordering. Elaine notices an antique armoire for sale on the street, however, and passes on the soup so that she can buy the piece of furniture. When George orders improperly, the store's proprietor refuses to serve him the fabulous soup. Elaine arranges for Kramer to guard the armoire and rushes to the soup store. Unfortunately, she also orders incorrectly and angers the proprietor, who banishes her from the store. Meanwhile, Kramer is mugged for the armoire, and George and Jerry have a little competition to see who can be the more affectionate in public. Kramer then finds Elaine another armoire, in which she discovers a collection of recipes that turn out to be quite valuable to a certain Soup Nazi. In the stand-up segments, Seinfeld comments on soup as the perfect food for lazy people. Commercials deleted. This program is closed-captioned.
