HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN: I WAS A MIDDLE-AGED WEREWOLF (TV)
Summary
One in this fantasy series about an angel named Jonathan, who helps people in trouble, and his human sidekick, Mark, a former police officer. As this Halloween episode begins, Mark buys a submarine sandwich from a fast-food shop called Satan's Subs, despite Jonathan's warnings. As Mark eats his sandwich and watches the 1950s horror film, "I Was a Teenage Werewolf," he remarks that the lead character (played by actor Michael Landon) looks like Jonathan. Meanwhile, Cindy Bailey, her brother Alan, and her friend Eloise go trick-or-treating alone, since Bob Bailey refuses to escort them and wants his son to be brave. Yet when Cindy and Eloise pretend to be abducted, Alan freaks out and flees. And when two drunken boys try to steal Alan's candy, Jonathan intervenes by magically masquerading as a werewolf. Meanwhile, Mark falls asleep and has a nightmare in which Jonathan turns into a werewolf. Jonathan takes Alan trick-or-treating, and when they learn that Cindy is at Eloise's house and that they are both safe, the angel agrees to help Alan pull a prank. But the Baileys, unaware of Alan's whereabouts, call the police, and Bob angrily denounces his son for being a "sissy." Ultimately, Jonathan must help the sensitive boy and his defensive father reconcile, while Mark struggles with recurring bad dreams about lycanthropy. Commercials deleted.
