GILLIGAN'S ISLAND: DON'T BUG THE MOSQUITOES (TV)
Summary
One in this series about seven castaways stranded on a desert island, and their unsuccessful attempts at escape. In this episode, the castaways are joined on the island by Gilligan's favorite rock band, The Mosquitoes, who've come to the island hideaway to relax far away from their fans. Excited at the prospect of a way off the island, the castaways elicit a promise of rescue from Bingo, Bango, Bongo, and Irving -- but only if the islanders promise to "cooperate" with the band. The castaways agree, but the lure of the band is too much for the islanders, leading each of them to harass the musicians in his or her own way: Ginger and Mary Ann become screeching groupies; the Professor tries to experiment on the strange rocker specimens; Mr. Howell assigns himself as band manager; and Mrs. Howell threatens the shaggy-haired quartet with haircuts. When the band threatens to desert the castaways, the men decide to placate their would-be rescuers by forming a music group, The Gnats, as a tribute. When the Gnats actually scare The Mosquitos off, the women become The Honeybees in an attempt to earn themselves a trip home with their catchy tune, "You Need Us."
