MOTHER GOOSE ROCK 'N' RHYME (TV)
Summary
In this children's special Mother Goose's son Gordon and Little Bo Peep discover that Mother Goose is missing. Their hunt for the missing maternal fowl brings them into contact with the Itsy Bitsy Spider, Mary and her Little Lamb, Peter Piper, the Crooked Man, Miss Muffet, and Old King Cole. Cole refuses to discuss anything serious -- until the inhabitants of Rhymeland begin to disappear. Finally realizing the urgency of the matter, Cole suggests that Gordon and Bo Peep visit Humpty Dumpty. From there they meet Jack and Jill and are sent to the police station -- only to discover that all the policemen have disappeared. A local bartender refers Gordon to a detective agency upstairs. There, three blind mice sing him a song but offer no advice on how to find his missing mother. Peep and Gordon get back on the road, where they see Simple Simon and give him a ride to the fair. Peep and Gordon, now very close, finally get a useful clue when they spot Mother Goose's face in the moon. The two searchers end up going to the fair themselves, and they hitch a ride on the cow who jumped over the moon. When they finally find Mother Goose, they bring her back to Rhymeland -- and she reveals a long guarded secret. This program is closed-captioned.
