PARTY OF FIVE: WHO CARES? (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas about five siblings in San Francisco who attempt to raise themselves and cope with life's daily dilemmas after their parents die in a car accident. In this episode, Bailey travels to Los Angeles to find his drug-addled girlfriend, Jill, and tries to get her some help, despite Charlie's adamant reservations. Charlie's furniture business venture is starting to take off -- a major company offers him a substantial amount of money for his furniture; the only problem is that the workload is heavy and Claudia is expecting a party for her twelfth birthday. Meanwhile, Julia's close friend, Danny, asks her to write lyrics for his music, but she is uncertain that she wants the responsibility; realizing he is acting awkward, she learns that he is HIV-positive. In Los Angeles, Bailey finds Jill and convinces her to return to San Francisco; the trip back home goes smoothly but the mood turns sour as Jill's drug problem surfaces. And Claudia cannot believe no one threw her a birthday party and begins to feel that nobody cares about her. And, as Danny pressures Julia to begin writing strong lyrics, she begins to resent the way he is treating her. Ultimately, the family arranges a party for Claudia that will be a success. Commercials deleted.
