ER {E.R.}: EVERYTHING OLD IS NEW AGAIN {FIRST SEASON FINALE} (TV)
Summary
The first season finale in this series of dramas about the emergency room team of an inner-city Chicago hospital. This episode, which takes place on Dr. Carter's last day at the emergency room and Nurse Hathaway's wedding day, begins with Dr. Carter treating a teenager who has shot himself in the mouth. Highlights from this episode include: Dr. Greene is offered the job of emergency room attending physician just following his notification of an upcoming malpractice lawsuit against him; Dr. Carter befriends a young boy with leukemia; Dr. Benton, distraught over not being able to say good-bye to his mother before she dies, sympathizes with a dying AIDS patient; Dr. Ross, upset over the breakup of his romantic relationship, comforts Nurse Hathaway when her wedding day doesn't go as planned; and Dr. Lewis, a bridesmaid at the wedding, is left in charge of her sister's baby. The episode ends with Dr. Carter planning to return to the emergency room in the fall after all. Commercials deleted.
