ST. ELSEWHERE: AIDS AND COMFORT (TV)
Summary
One in this medical drama series set in St. Eligius hospital in Boston. In this episode, Tony Gifford, a member of the city council, is diagnosed with a virus that appears to be AIDS. Gifford can't believe the diagnosis and is worried how his public image will fare once word of his situation gets out. Meanwhile, the hospital is running very low on blood and Dr. Ehrlich and Nurse Daniels are put in charge of a blood drive. Dr. Fiscus handles the case of a young tennis star whose father has high expectations for her in the near future. Fiscus has a feeling that there is more to the girl's condition than just fatigue and gets Dr. Ridley involved in the case. Dr. White requests that he be dropped from handling Gifford's case, which reflects the mood of the others at the hospital. Commerials deleted.
