A&E'S AN EVENING AT THE IMPROV {KELSEY GRAMMER} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of standup comedy programs from the well-known improvisational comedy club in Los Angeles. Each program features a different celebrity guest host. In this episode, series host Bud Friedman is joined by guest host Kelsey Grammer. Grammer jokes about being nervous; not using the written material that was prepared for him; and not being able to read the cue cards because he didn't bring his glasses. The program then presents a number of performers. Arnez J improvises on being black, race relations, and gospel music; Don Learned jokes about gambling in Las Vegas, birthday gifts from one's mother, and married life; George Kantor riffs about waiters, ketchup, his car, and baseball; Andrea Leigh humorously discusses 976 numbers, being Jewish but not religious, Patty Hearst, rumors, women's being expected to smile, receiving lingerie for Valentine's Day, and Cher; and Hugh Fink extemporizes on EuroDisney and the French, the Playboy Advisor column, Los Angeles, the right to die, Mike Tyson's new autobiography, Jim Eisenreich, and Magic Johnson as a sports commentator. Between comics, Grammer pitches a clothing line called Brand F Clothing. Commercials deleted.
