HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET: MAP OF THE HEART (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic police series about a department of reflective homicide detectives in Baltimore, Maryland. In this episode, a seventy-one-year-old man is found dead in his swimming pool and Detectives Pembleton and Bayliss are assigned the investigation. The dead man's personal trainer informs the detectives about the physical condition of the deceased, and they are surprised because of the man's age. Meanwhile, Detective Kellerman becomes fed up with the department when his lunch is repeatedly stolen from the refrigerator. He vows to apprehend the lunch bandit with or without the help of the other detectives. Pembleton and Bayliss get a visit from Richard Laumer, who claims to be the dead man's biological son. A videotape Laumer gives them contains some information about the possible motives of this homicide. The autopsy shows there were needle marks found on the body as well as traces of steroids. The detectives believe someone was shooting the man full of steroids and Laumer is the main suspect. The case takes a dramatic turn when an agent from the National Security Agency (NSA) shows up with an unexplained interest in Laumer and the case. The personal trainer confesses to injecting the steroids, but the detectives still aren't satisfied because of the NSA's sudden interest. Commercials deleted.
