AND THEN THERE WAS ONE (TV)
Summary
This docudrama depicts the lives of Vinnie and Roxy Ventola, and their infant daughter Miranda, all of whom are diagnosed with AIDS. As the drama begins, the Ventolas, a husband-and-wife California comedy writing team finally have a baby daughter, Miranda, in 1988, after years of frustrating attempts at parenthood. Their joy is soon tempered by concern, however, when the infant suffers from numerous mysterious illnesses and is ultimately diagnosed with AIDS. Subsequent examinations reveal that Roxy and Vinnie have also contracted the virus. The Ventolas bravely cope with AIDS, and with the stigma associated with this illness. Following a sojourn to see the Joshua Tree, Roxy stands vigil as both Vinnie and Miranda succumb to the disease. Alone but unvanquished, Roxy sustains her faith with the knowledge that her husband and daughter will not be alone in the afterlife. Commercials deleted.
