ANOTHER WORLD {GRANT CONFESSES AT VICKY'S TRIAL} (TV)

Summary

One in this daytime serial set in the fictional town of Bay City, Illinois. In this episode, Bay City gathers for Vicky Hudson's trial for the attempted murder of her ex-husband Grant Harrison. Plot developments include the following: Josie Watts tells Ian Rain that she will not be going with him to Australia; Rachel Cory Hutchins asks husband Carl if he loves her because she looks like Justine -- the mother of his children, who has been thought dead for twenty-five years; Ryan Harrison and defense lawyer Cass Winthrop inform Grant that Alistair witnessed the shooting and will tesify that Vicky is innocent; Grant begins to lose his composure on the stand after medical witness Dr. John Hudson reveals that the angle of the entrance and exit wounds contradict Grant's story of how he was shot; Josie tells Ian she has rediscovered her home and her family, and has decided to enter the police academy here in Bay City; Rachel tells Carl that she has learned Justine may not have died in childbirth, but instead made a deal with Spencer and gave up her children to him for money; Rachel says she fears Carl will now return to Justine, and says she needs some time alone to think; Josie and Ian share an emotional goodbye; a distressed Carl visits Felicia and is introduced to Anna-Marie, Justine's sister, who confirms that Justine is alive, but says she wishes that her sister where dead -- a sentiment Carl shares, much to Felicia's surprise; Anna-Marie warns Carl that Justine is evil and blames him and Spencer for all the trouble and ruin in her life; Carl says he must find Justine to resolve Rachel's feelings of insecurity about his love; when Alistair walks into the courtroom, Grant suddenly confesses, describing how he shot himself and framed Vicky so she would lose custody of Kirk; all charges are dropped against Vicky; Carl returns home to find Rachel gone; Ryan and Vicky, relieved and happy, discuss their marriage plans; Vicky finds Grant alone in the witness room and reveals to him that Alistair witnessed nothing -- Ryan tricked his brother Grant into confessing.
