CATTANOOGA CATS SHOW, THE {IT'S THE WOLF,
MOTORMOUSE AND AUTOCAT, AROUND THE WORLD IN 79
DAYS (TV)
Summary
One in this series of animated programs featuring a feline band. This program consists of the following segments: "It's the Wolf," in which a sheepdog, Bristol Hound, protects a small lamb, Lambsy, from the clutches of a big bad wolf named Mildew; "Motormouse and Autocat" in which a frustrated feline attempts to capture a feisty mouse on a motorcycle; and "Around the World in 79 Days," in which a young explorer, Phileas Fogg, hopes to travel around the world in record time. In "It's the Wolf: High Hopes," Mildew attempts to snatch Lambsy for lunch. Bristol tries to hide Lambsy in a hot air balloon, but Mildew comes up with ingenious inventions to get to his prey. Next, the Cattanooga Cats perform a song. In "Motormouse and Autocat: Party Crasher," Autocat learns that Motormouse is having a party and decides that he will prevent it from happening. Autocat attempts to intercept Motormouse as he shops for party items, but only finds himself crashing into trains and falling off of bridges and cliffs. In "Around the World in 79 Days: Arabian Daze," traveler Phileas Fogg and his companions journey to the Sahara Desert, where his enemies Crumden and Bumbler try to put him behind schedule. Crumden lures Phileas Fogg and his companions out of their hot air balloon and leaves them stranded in the desert. Unfortunately, while making their escape, Bumbler and Crumden crash into a tent and find themselves tied to stakes awaiting execution. They manage to get themselves set free when Crumden promises to bring the owner of the tent a beautiful princess, Phileas Fogg's female companion Jenny. Next, the Cattanooga Cats perform one of their songs. "It's the Wolf: A Sheep in the Deep" follows. In this segment, Bristol brings Lambsy to a deserted island which he believes will be a safe place for his ward to frolic. Unfortunately, Mildew follows them there. Mildew uses various disguises to try to fool Lambsy and Bristol. When none of them work, he comes up with a unique idea: he will sink the island. In the final segment, "Motormouse and Autocat: Wild Wheelin' Wheels," Autocat attempts to capture Motormouse with a variety of inventions including the following items: a mousetrap, a baseball mitt, a magnet, a new car called the Centerpede Speed Special, a mouse whammer, a small car called the Mini Motor Special, and a giant spiked tire.
