DICK VAN DYKE SHOW, THE: THE REDCOATS ARE COMING (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedy programs about the personal and professional life of Rob Petrie, the head comedy writer for television's "Alan Brady Show." In this episode, the popular singing duo, the Redcoats, arrive in New York to perform on "The Alan Brady Show." Unfortunately, the singers cannot get any sleep because they are constantly being harassed by teenage fans. However, producer Mel Cooley comes up with a brilliant and complicated plan to secretly bring the duo to the Petries' home, where they will not be disturbed. Rob is not sure that he wants the performers in his home since damage and havoc seem to follow them wherever they go. Yet, intrigued by Mel's plan, which includes rendezvous points and secret codes, Rob agrees to hide the two men in his home. Meanwhile, Laura is being pestered by her neighbors, who all want tickets to see the Redcoats perform on the show. Includes commercials and public service announcements.
