NIGHT GALLERY: THE MESSIAH ON MOTT STREET / THE PAINTED MIRROR (TV)
Summary
One in this supernatural anthology series hosted by Rod Serling. This episode consists of two stories: "The Messiah on Mott Street" (run time 0:36:42) and "The Painted Mirror" (run time 0:14:09). "The Messiah on Mott Street" features Edward G. Robinson as Abraham Goldman, an impoverished, seriously ill man who desperately wants to live so his orphaned grandson won't be raised in a foster home. During the winter holiday season he awaits a visit from the Messiah to come to him and restore his health, and hopes his prodigal brother will make good on an old debt. In "The Painted Mirror," longtime thrift shop owner Frank Standish is being pushed aside by Mrs. Moore, the stylish new controlling partner who wishes to modernize the fusty old man's store. But when a friend of the elderly man brings a mysterious painted mirror to the store for repair, Standish may have an unusual way to reclaim dominion over his livelihood. Commercials deleted.
