JON STEWART SHOW, THE {100TH SHOW} {STEVEN WEBER, PATSY KENSIT, REBECCA GAYHEART, HELMET} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of late-night talk shows hosted by Jon Stewart. On this program, the 100th show, Stewart is joined by actors Steven Weber, Patsy Kensit, Rebecca Gayheart, and the rock group Helmet. Highlights of this program include the following: after Stewart's monologue, the "mayor" arrives to congratulate him on his 100th show and gives him a plaque and key to the city; Stewart and the "mayor" stand in a convertible (behind which footage of a city parade is projected), waving at the crowds until a band of shriners attack them and things get ugly; some paraders return to the studio with Stewart, including a midget harlequin, and the stray paraders bring each of his guests out thereafter; actor Steven Weber sings a lounge-lizard style song he composed for Stewart, discusses the celebration for 100th episode of his series "Wings," and recalls how he threw his back out preparing to perform a nude scene in a film; an episode of "Talk Show Jon," a comedy sketch series starring an action-figure version of Stewart who, in this installment, goes on a rescue mission to the middle-eastern nation of "Klafjstan"; actress Patsy Kensit discusses her marriage to Simple Minds' frontman Jim Kerr; her recent role as Mia Farrow in the television movie "Love & Betrayal: The Mia Farrow"; and her movie debut at age four, playing Mia Farrow's daughter in "The Great Gatsby"; a performance by Helmet; actress Rebecca Gayhardt talks about her series "Earth 2," her upcoming marriage, and the small town in Kentucky in which she grew up; and Stewart is horrified to discover the corpses of his final "guests" -- a ventriloquist act called "Rusty Putnam and Terry." Mr. Putnam and little Terry hanged themselves in the green room, apparently despondent over having been bumped several times from the show for lack of time. Includes commercials and promos. (During one commercial break, several varying promos for the next "Jon Stewart Show" are shown in a row, including voice-over spots.)
