Summary
A comedy special hosted by Jonathan Winters. In this program, the comic and his guests present a satirical documentary about the film industry. Highlights include the following: Winters portrays a pompous male star named Lance Lovegard and sings "My Fortune Is My Face"; Julie Newmar sings "I'm a Woman"; Winters plays an elderly female character in a western short; Winters auditions for the part of a werewolf; Winters plays Captain Bligh in "Mutiny on the Bounty"; Newmar sings "I'm Calm"; Fred Clark plays a movie executive who fires a grown-up child star played by Winters (Mickey Rooney makes a cameo appearance as his replacement); Winters portrays a make-up artist attempting to groom one of his stars; a skit depicts the difference between foreign films and those released in the United States; Winters does his impersonation of a popcorn machine; Winters performs a unique version of "Frankenstein" which ends with the song "Real Live Girl"; and Winters portrays a soldier at the front who receives a visit from his nagging mother. At the end of the program, the host thanks Walt Disney for the use of Disneyland, where most of this show was filmed. Includes commercials, promos, and public service announcements.
