JEFF'S COLLIE {LASSIE}: THE WELL (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas about Lassie, a smart and courageous collie. In this episode, a water company official asks Gramps to sell his well. When Gramps refuses, the man searches for an alternative way to acquire the property. He discovers that when Gramps bought the land, he never filed a deed, so he gets the previous owner to sign over the land to the water company. When the businessman and his lawyer go to the well and put up a no trespassing sign, Jeff gets into an argument with the businessman, who pushes him. Lassie defends Jeff and pushes the man, who accidentally falls into the well. Jeff sends Lassie home to get help and Gramps arrives with a rope. The lawyer, who is not comfortable with the underhanded way in which the well was acquired, makes a secret deal with his client before he will allow him to be pulled to safety. Commercials deleted.
