MORE WINNERS: MISTER EDMUND (TV)

Summary

One in this series of Australian programs made for children. In this program, two siblings are intrigued by the new boarder their mother, Margaret, has taken into their home. His name is Mr. Edmund and the youngest of the two children, Sam, believes that he is a spy. His older sister, Cherry, is sure that he is wrong, but is extremely fascinated with the spirited man. Cherry and Sam decide to follow Mr. Edmund and before long they discover that he is a street musician. Mr. Edmund earns money by playing the accordion and singing to his heart's content. When the children ask him if he is worried about what people will think of him, Mr. Edmund simply explains that the only person one must be true to is oneself. Cherry tells Mr. Edmund that she wishes to be a lawyer, but that her mother thinks that it would be impossible since they are not wealthy. Mr. Edmund takes it upon himself to teach the children that dreams can come true as he attempts to make his a reality by putting together a concert he intends to perform in the opera house. Meanwhile, Sam is convinced that an elderly neighbor is a vampire and Margaret feels that Mr. Edmund is only setting up her children for disappointment by teaching them to believe in unrealistic dreams.
