HALLMARK HALL OF FAME: AH, WILDERNESS! (TV)

Summary

One in this series of programs presented by Hallmark. In this television adaptation of the Eugene O'Neill play, Richard, a young man just coming of age, searches for answers to questions about relationships with women. Richard, who feels misunderstood, is surrounded by examples of good and bad choices in life: his uncle and his maiden aunt, who never got married because his uncle chose to drink and spend time with the wrong type of women; his older brother, who takes young love in stride; his parents, who have a strong relationship due to his father's wise choices; and a friend of his brother's, who leads Richard to temptation. His father tries to give him advice about how to lead his life, but in the end it is up to Richard to make the final decision. Includes a promo for an NBC program.

("Hallmark Hall of Fame" aired on NBC from 1952 to 1978; network affiliation varies after 1978.)

(Beginning with the live telecast of the opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors" on December 24, 1951, Hallmark has sponsored a series of dramatic specials which since 1952 have been titled "Hallmark Hall of Fame." From 1952 to 1955 Hallmark also presented "Hallmark Hall of Fame," a weekly half-hour dramatic anthology series hosted by Sarah Churchill. The first program, "Dr. Serocold," was televised in January 1952 under the title "Hallmark Television Theatre." This series also ran under the title "Hallmark Summer Theatre" in July and August 1952.)
