MYSTERY!: PRIME SUSPECT 1: EPISODE 3 (TV)
Summary
One in this mystery anthology series. Host Diana Rigg introduces part three of this three-part program, set in contemporary London, in which an ambitious detective faces sexual discrimination when she takes over her first homicide investigation. In part three, DCI Jane Tennison and her crew work around-the-clock to link prime suspect George Marlow to a ten-year cross-country killing spree. Tennison brings Marlow's common law wife Moyra in for questioning and learns that she often worked as a freelance beautician wherever she accompanied Marlow on his numerous business trips. Court records show that Moyra once stood trial for solicitation alongside one of the serial killer's victims, although Moyra denies having made her acquaintance. As the administration pressures Tennison to bring formal charges against the accused, she tries desperately to foster a connection between Moyra, who steadfastly stands by her man, and each of the horribly mutilated victims. Meanwhile, the search continues for Marlow's reportedly stolen car, which may hold the key to Tennison's investigation.
