Summary
One in this children's show, hosted by puppeteer Shari Lewis, and featuring puppets Lamb Chop, Hush Puppy, and Charlie Horse. This episode's main segment is "The Emperor's New Clothes" and features Shari telling Lamb Chop the classic Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale about the powerful but foolish ruler of all the lands who stupidly accepts two swindlers' offer to make him the most wonderful suit of clothes ever created -- an "invisible suit" which can only be seen by incredibly clever people. Other segments include: two "Betcha" setups, one in which Shari shows how to put a newspaper in a place where two people can stand on it at the same time without touching each other, the second with Lamb Chop teaching how to read someone's mind; a song about the letters of the alphabet and transformations that can be made to them by adding a line to each; Lamb Chop plays a knock-knock joke with Charlie Horse; Charlie Horse presents a riddle about egg yolks; Shari shows off two twin cats -- Ashley and Stephanie -- to their human namesakes and then teaches them how to make their own "twins" out of a napkin; "Alpha-Toons" about the letter C and the letter G, then the letter A and the letter H; Lamb Chop beats Hush Puppy in a race and then acts like a braggadocio, causing Shari to have to tell her how, as a baby, she refused to walk out of fear; "Comedy Barn" in which Hush Puppy tells some jokes with the help of children; Shari plays "Musical Peanuts" with a group of children; and Shari teaches Lamp Chop about the difference between kites and butterflies before singing a song about the winged creatures. In the finale, children join Lamb Chop, Charlie Horse, and Hush Puppy in testing Lewis's patience with "The Song That Doesn't End."
