M*A*S*H {MASH}: THE LATE CAPTAIN PIERCE (TV)

Summary

One in this series of comedy programs about the men and women of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (M*A*S*H) stationed behind the lines during the Korean War. In this episode, Hawkeye must cope with the death of one of his favorite people -- himself. Due to a clerical error, the army has officially pronounced Hawkeye dead. The surgeon soon realizes that death has unpleasant drawbacks: his family has been informed, his mail has been stopped, and his pay discontinued. The situation is complicated by communication difficulties, which prevent Hawkeye from notifying his father of the grievous error. Ultimately, Hawkeye's premature death notice makes him ponder the magnitude of all the actual fatalities that he has encountered in Korea. Commercials deleted.
