M*A*S*H {MASH}: LIFE WITH FATHER (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedy programs about the men and women of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (M*A*S*H) stationed behind the lines during the Korean War. In this episode, mail call brings a variety of problems for the following members of the 4077th: Colonel Henry Blake, who receives a letter from his wife giving him permission to fool around while in Korea, which leads Henry to believe that his wife has a guilty conscience; Father Mulcahy, who ponders over a letter from his sister the nun stating that she is considering leaving the order; and Hawkeye and Trapper, who hope to win a pony through a mail-order contest. Meanwhile, a Korean woman, Chim Sah, arrives at the 4077th with her infant son in search of a rabbi to perform a bris. While Radar searches for a Jewish chaplin, Hawkeye agrees to perform the circumcision. This upsets Major Burns and Houlihan, who insist that army regulations do not allow the performance of elective surgery. Commercials deleted.
