Summary

One in this series of daytime talk/variety shows hosted by David Letterman and broadcast live from New York. In this program, Letterman interviews Ann and Art Buchwald about the book they have written together describing the early days of their relationship in the Paris of the 1950s. They discuss their first encounter, and their friendships with many of the Americans living and working abroad, including Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Clinical psychologist Dr. Carol Lindemann joins Letterman to discuss the phobias and compulsive behavior of housewives. She defines obsessive-compulsive behavior and explains the cause of the repetitive actions that mark this condition. Also includes Rich Hall clowning with the host and an NBC News update provided by reporter Edwin Newman. Commercials deleted.
