WONDER YEARS, THE: HOMECOMING {SIXTH SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)

Summary

One in this series about Kevin Arnold, a young boy growing up in the suburbs during the late 1960s, whose experiences, thoughts, and reactions are recalled by the adult Kevin, who narrates and makes wry observations throughout. In this episode, Kevin is entering the eleventh grade and is also dealing with many personal problems, mostly with Winnie's attitude toward going further with their relationship. Paul, the class president, is excited about the homecoming football game against Central High and he tells Kevin and Jeff that Central stole their mascot. This gives Kevin the incentive to steal Central's mascot, an owl, and let out some of his aggression. Meanwhile, Wayne's best friend, Wart, returns from his tour of duty in Vietnam, but it is evident that things are not the same with him. Kevin's attempt to steal Central's mascot turns into a fiasco and everyone knows about it. During the game, Kevin is on his way back to the seats when he hears the owl in the team bus. Kevin knows that this is his opportunity for redemption. With the owl in hand, Kevin finds Wart sitting alone on the baseball field in his underwear. Wayne shows up and comforts his best friend, who is obviously having a tough time fitting back into society. Includes commercials and promos. This program is closed-captioned.
