GILLIGAN'S ISLAND {UNAIRED PILOT} (TV)

Summary

This original pilot for the comedy series about seven castaways marooned on a desert island was never aired, and features three cast members who did not appear in the regular series, as well as a different theme song. Marooned on the island are the Skipper and his first mate, Gilligan; the millionaires, Mr. and Mrs. Thurston Howell III; two secretaries, Ginger and Bunny; and a high school professor. After the professor fixes the broken transmitter and radio, Gilligan accidentally hooks them onto his fishing line and throws both of them out to sea. Later, Gilligan catches dozens of fish, and when a radio exercise program emanates from one of the sea creatures, the castaways respond by speaking into its mouth. The Howells stumble onto the scene and are convinced that the rest of the castaways have gone mad. No commercials. (Portions of this original pilot appeared in the second series pilot.)
