HONEYMOONERS, THE: YOUNG AT HEART (TV)

Summary

One in this series of comedies about Ralph Kramden, a blustery bus driver, his long-suffering but understanding wife, Alice, and their neighbors, Ed and Trixie Norton. In this episode, the Kramdens and the Nortons try to recapture the fun of being young again. When the Kramdens' teenage neighbor, Judy, wants to meet her date in their apartment, Alice becomes nostalgic about all of the fun that she and Ralph used to have when they were younger. But when she asks Ralph to take her roller-skating or to an amusement park, Ralph scoffs at her and claims that they are too old, hurting Alice's feelings. Ashamed of himself, Ralph asks Ed to teach him some of the new, popular dances. Consequently, the Kramdens and the Nortons go out roller skating together, the only problem being that Ralph cannot roller-skate. Commercials deleted. (This roller-skating routine is an updated version of a routine that Gleason performed as the Poor Soul on February 2, 1953, on "The Jackie Gleason Show.")
