JIM HENSON'S "THE STORYTELLER": FEARNOT (TV)
Summary
One in this series of folk tales and legends narrated by "the Storyteller," featuring fantasy characters from Jim Henson's Creature Shop. In this episode, the Storyteller narrates the tale of Fearnot, a boy who is unable to feel fear. Fearnot wants to discover what it feels like to "shudder," so he leaves his family and his sweetheart in search of an experience that will frighten him. Along the way, he meets a tinker who tries to help him in his quest; a terrifying pond creature and seductive water nymphs who try to lure men to a watery death in the pond; and a "half-man" living in an eerie castle near a graveyard, whose body splits in half at his torso. But Fearnot defies all those who try to scare or harm him. Only when he returns home to find that his sweetheart is dying does he discover the true meaning of fear. Commercials deleted.
