AMERICAN PLAYHOUSE: THE LAWRENCEVILLE STORIES:
THE BEGINNING OF THE FIRM (TV)

Summary

One in this dramatic anthology series. Adapted by Jan Jaffe Kahn from "The Lawrenceville Stories" by Owen Johnson, these productions bring to life the many precocious young boys and cantankerous schoolmasters of Johnson's short stories, set in the prestigious Lawrenceville School in 1905. In this final episode in the series, chief prankster William Hicks, a.k.a. "The Prodigious Hickey," joins forces with his archrival, "The Tennessee Shad," to put the insufferably wealthy freshman "The Uncooked Beefsteak" to shame.
