AMERICAN PLAYHOUSE: THE LAWRENCEVILLE STORIES: THE RETURN OF HICKEY (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic anthology series. Adapted by Jan Jaffe Kahn from "The Lawrenceville Stories" by Owen Johnson, these productions bring to life the many precocious young boys and cantankerous schoolmasters of Johnson's short stories, set in the prestigious Lawrenceville School in 1905. In this presentation, William Hicks, a.k.a. "The Prodigious Hickey," returns to school after being suspended for a semester to discover that his reputation as the chief prankster has been stolen by "The Tennessee Shad." The two rivals then engage in a battle of wits during a school political campaign.
