DOOGIE HOWSER, M.D.: THE SUMMER OF '91 {THIRD SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about teenage genius Doogie Howser, M.D., the youngest doctor in the country, who attempts to live his life as a normal adolescent. In this episode, Doogie wants to lose his virginity, and with Wanda leaving for school in Chicago, he feels that the time is right. While discussing his sexual desires with a psychologist, the adolescent doctor confesses that his sex drive is affecting his work. Doogie plans a romantic evening with Wanda so the two can consummate their love for one another. However, a patient arrives at the hospital and mistakes Doogie for her late husband. Suffering from a brain abnormality, the patient is in a state of mental confusion and is scheduled for surgery the next day. Doogie makes the difficult decision to stay with the patient overnight, and Wanda comes to the hospital looking for the young doctor. When Doogie tells his girlfriend that his patient is his priority at the moment, Wanda storms off. The next day, Doogie goes to Wanda's house to explain his position and say farewell -- probably for the last time. As they begin to part, Wanda describes her true feelings for Doogie, setting the mood for a long goodbye. Includes commercials, promos, and a public service announcement. Commercials include Tony Randall and Jack Klugman; public service announcement features Neil Patrick Harris. This program is closed-captioned.
