PARTRIDGE FAMILY, THE: SOUL CLUB (TV)

Summary

One in this series of comedies about the Partridges, a family of rock musicians who travel around in a psychedelic bus. In this episode, the Partridges help two brothers save their nightclub from the hands of a ruthless loan shark. A booking agent makes an error and sends the Partridges to the Firehouse, a new African-American club in Detroit that had requested the Temptations. The club's owners, the Simon brothers, are distraught. They've borrowed a lot of money in order to create an inner-city "community nightclub" that books top acts and charges a nominal admission, and opening night with the Temptations was going to save them financially. The Partridges offer to play anyway, but they are not a big draw in this community and no one shows up for their performance. As the club's seizure by the loan shark grows imminent, the Partridges come up with a plan to help the Simons keep it. Includes the song "Bandala." Includes commercials, a promo, and a public service announcement.
