AMERICAN PLAYHOUSE: PAINTING CHURCHES (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic anthology series. This drama by Tina Howe explores the relationship between a young artist at the cusp of a successful career and her eccentric parents. Mags Church returns to her parents' home in Boston to paint their portrait and to help them move to a small cottage in Cape Cod. As the painting develops and the boxes are packed, memories mix with recriminations and new revelations. Mags learns from her mother that her charmingly befuddled father, a former poet laureate, is now wavering on the threshold of senility. Her parents' imminent departure from their home forces Mags to confront her past and to consider her future.
