Summary
One in a series of dramas about the personal and professional life of Rosie O'Neill, a Los Angeles County public defender. In this episode, Rosie and fellow defender Hank Mitchell argue against the death penalty for convicted murderer Jamaal Michael Bell, a nineteen year old who experienced a childhood of abuse and neglect. Their case becomes complicated, however, when Hank is falsely arrested for a robbery because of racism. Although Rosie is greatly stressed by her first death penalty case, it is Hank who is hospitalized with an ulcer, leaving Rosie to do the summation on her own. This episode begins with Rosie bemoaning the paucity of strong female characters on television to her psychiatrist. Commercials deleted.
