THIRTYSOMETHING: FIRST DAY / LAST DAY (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas about the personal and professional dilemmas confronting a close-knit group of friends -- urban baby boomers in their thirties -- living in Philadelphia. In this episode, Michael must decide whether or not his future includes Elliot as the two partners declare bankruptcy. Michael and Elliot attend an interview with the owner of a discount store in the hopes of gaining employment. However, Elliot is so offended by the restrictions on creativity in the store's advertising department that he abruptly walks out, and Michael reluctantly follows him. Later, Michael receives a call from the store owner, who offers him another chance without his partner. Realizing his financial situation, Michael agrees to a meeting at the discount store, where he is offered a job. Afterwards, he and Elliot clear out their offices and argue about the future and Michael's job offer. Also, flashbacks chronicle how Michael and Elliot met and eventually became partners. Commercials deleted.
