GREAT PERFORMANCES: TALES FROM THE HOLLYWOOD HILLS: THE CLOSED SET (TV)
Summary
One in this anthology series about the dreams and schemes of those in and on the fringes of the film industry. In this program, a well established motion picture actress, Julie Forbes, discovers she is a falling star and decides to give herself a second chance by forming her own production company. She enlists the help of a young artistic director, Cliff Harriston, and his longtime friend and writer, Bud. At first it seems as though Julie wants to take a shot at creating a non-Hollywood type of movie, but the artistic project becomes big business for a big studio, which Cliff has trouble accepting. Meanwhile, Bud's script is re-written to the point where it no longer resembles his work and Cliff's girlfriend, Tina, who is an actress, is written out of the movie.
