TRUTH ABOUT ALEX, THE (TV)
Summary
This drama tells the story of high school sports star Alex Prager and the secret he harbors: He's gay. Alex and his best friend Bradford Stevens are both on the football team, but introverted Alex never wants to attend the football victory parties and prefers to focus on his piano lessons. When Alex backs out of a liaison with a gay trucker, the trucker beats him up. The fallout causes Alex to come out of the closet, and puts a rift in his friendship with Brad. The team's coach and several other players -- including team bully Dutch -- want Alex kicked off. Brad supports Alex and forces the coach to keep him on the team. As the state championship game looms, Alex's concentration is divided between the game and his pending, make-or-break piano recital. Meanwhile, Brad must come to terms with a homophobic father and figure out what his own future holds.
