CHINA BEACH: BROTHERS (TV)

Summary

One in this drama series set during the Vietnam War, which focuses on the lives of the women stationed at China Beach, a combined U.S. Armed Forces hospital and USO recreational facility located near the South China Sea. In this episode, Cherry asks Dodger to help her search for her older brother, Rick, who is also serving in Vietnam. Cherry has always admired Rick, and when his letters stop arriving, she becomes determined to find out what happened to him. Meanwhile, Beckett trains Omar, a new arrival on base, to work in the morgue. Since there are so few other African-Americans in the area, Beckett soon forms a bond with Omar and his friend Fluke, but he begins to sense that something shady is underway. While Laurette prepares for a big audition that could launch her singing career in Southeast Asia, she is struck with laryngitis and loses her voice. As the program concludes, Cherry learns of Rick's whereabouts and Beckett uncovers the truth about Omar and Fluke's business, causing both Cherry and Beckett to become disillusioned with "brothers." Includes commercials and promos. Commercials include Eric Clapton for Michelob beer. This program is closed-captioned.

Cataloging of this program was made possible by John Sacret Young, 1998.
