Summary
The special, two-hour premiere of this detective series set in Hawaii, starring Tom Selleck as Thomas Magnum, a former naval officer turned private investigator. Magnum lives on the estate of writer Robin Masters, which is managed by Higgins, a former sergeant major in the British army. In this episode, a Navy buddy of Magnum's dies after being kidnapped and beaten. To the shock of all who knew him, the autopsy reveals ten bags of cocaine in his stomach. Magnum sets out to clear his friend's name against the wishes of the dead man's antagonistic commanding officer. In the course of the investigation, Magnum himself becomes a target for murder.
